Dr. Cameron currently serves as the Director of Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Research at Keller Army Hospital, West Point, New York, where he holds faculty appointments with the John A. Feagin Jr. Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship and the US Army-Baylor University Sports Physical Therapy Doctoral Program. The Orthopaedic Research Department develops, conducts, and disseminates original and innovative clinical and epidemiological research to advance military and orthopaedic sports medicine. The ultimate goal is to facilitate injury prevention and improve patient outcomes to optimize military readiness.
Dr. Cameron brings extensive clinical and research expertise in injury prevention, musculoskeletal injury and disease epidemiology, and outcomes, with a specific focus on knee injuries and the subsequent development of post-traumatic osteoarthritis. He has secured more than $31 million in grant funding and published over 200 peer-reviewed publications.
Dr. Cameron advises the team on technical requirements and performance specifications for the military, making sure our products and services meet their unique needs for injury risk screening, diagnosis, and evaluating surgical and treatment outcomes to optimize military readiness. He has represented the voice of the military end user in prior funded work, including the design and development of our knee arthrometer (NCBC grant #2021-BIG-6701).
